PLEASE GIVE BLOOD
PROBABLY THE QUICKEST WAY TO MAKE SOMEONE WALK AWAY FROM YOU IS TO SAY THOSE WORDS
94.7 WCSX is sponsoring a huge blood drive this weekend, the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Let me tell you why it's so important to not walk away from this. I was at one of the American Red Cross donation centers this afternoon getting the word out. We all hear how during summer the blood supplies get dangerously low. I had no idea just how bad it is until today. They are in dire need of type O - blood, but donate no matter your type, or if you don't know your type. Type O - is universal in that it can be given to anyone in an emergency to keep them alive. Right now, there are only 3 extra units of type O - blood sitting on the shelves. When I was told this, I thought they meant at that one donation center. Turns out they meant in ALL OF SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN. 5 counties. 3 units. Now, they are just getting by with supplying hospitals with just enough to keep them going with what their average daily need is, but we're only one big event away from a real tragedy. I mean, one good size industrial accident, or one building collapse, or one major multi-car pileup...you get the idea. People can die because they need something so many of us can spare painlessly and are walking around with everyday and just don't bother to give. It's not like donating money. They can't cash a check and go to the store and buy it. And one pint of blood you donate can save three different lives because of the way they break it down. Ten minutes out of your life can save that many people. You'll never know who they were, but you can know you did it. Please go to our station's site and make an appointment this weekend.

There are so many centers, and the appointment times mean you don't have to wait in line, you don't have to waste time. The station is even giving you t-shirts and pizza and concert tickets for donating. We should all do this. Please help. Bill and I both did it today. Go to the site and follow the steps. Seriously, I'm begging you. www.wcsx.com Then look for "rock and roll up your sleeve"

I have been listening since you been on. Starting with the January 1st at 12am show. It was a rough year (like you didn't know that) without listening to you guys. Miss the Beaver but glad you guys with Rudy and even Nicole. Yes she is sexy as all hell but can get on your nerves. But that is fine. Makes it funny. Keep up the great work and hope to be listening for years to come.
