KWAME USING HIS KIDS
Look at this excerpt from one of the Free Press articles on Kwame's incarceration. He's trying to convince the judge to go easy on him, and this asshole brings up his children. Didn't he tell those in media not so long ago to leave his family alone? Leave his family out of this? Now here he is trying to seem contrite and using his own children like pawns to remind a judge that he'll be hurting children by putting their daddy away. Trust me, that's what he's doing here. What a coward. What a pussy.
"My life has been revolutionarily transformed and it's transforming in front of the eye of these media people who don't know me at all," he said, referring to what he called intense scrutiny. "Your honor, I ask for your forgiveness... it will never happen again."
He said his sons were watching these proceedings because he asked them to. "I told them that I did something wrong," he said.

Jeff, you said it all.
And where have his children and wife been, out of state where he can't go because of his bond? Concidence??? I doubt it.

It just doesn't matter. If KK is eligible to be elected next go 'round, the People of Detroit will elect him. If he's ineligible, they'll elect someone else just as divisive, egotistical, and criminal as he is.
Why? Because of that divisiveness. There is still the perception of "Detroit vs. Suburbs" (we all know what tha'ts a euphamism for) and that's how the People of Detroit will vote.
Sad days. Sad, sad days. I was born during the '67 race riots and lived in this area ever since, and Detroit has NEVER been a great city in my lifetime.
So sad.

I was wondering when you would comment on this.
This jerkoff is not taking any responsibility for his actions, and that is shown by his blatant disregard for the rules set in place by the judge.
The 'I'll do what I want' mentality, followed by the 'If I get in trouble, everything will be fixed for me because I'm a supah-stah!'
Kwame is in his rightful place.

FINALLY! Kwame in jail. It amazes me that it took this long. I think it's obvious that when he SHOVED the court employee trying to serve a subpoena that his "I'll be fine, this will all blow over" mindset has changed. Is it just me, or do you feel like he's going to SNAP! I think he finally realizes that he's in a no-win situation. The walls, and the law, are closing in. He needs to do everyone a favor and just RESIGN! What an arrogant asshole this guy is! The only thing he's pissed about is that he, along with friend and family, can no longer ride the Detroit taxpayers gravy train.
I can't wait to see where he is by next year. His wife will leave when he loses his gig, and he'll be like MC Hammer - no money, no friends!

Wonder what they fed this asshole in jail. prime rib. Jennifer G. needs to step up and remove him from office. This state is gonna go into the sewer with him still in office. And you hear people feeling sorry for him. What a freaking joke.

Are any of us surprised? I don't think so. He'll try everything he can to get out of it. That's just who he is.
Man, did you read the meals he got in jail? That's better than what I get for dinner.

Did anyone see Carmen Harlan's "commentary" last night?? It's on the homepage of clickondetroit in the right column at the top. Shocked the SHIT out of me... very Fox-news like.... very not WDIV-like... her commentary pleaded with Kwame to resign.
(ROFLMMFAO picturing Kwame on a tether......)

I heard on a sports talk radio station that the reason he's still there is that after Nov.1, he'll be tenured and will receive a lifetime pension of $180,000. Don't know the truth of the matter but I guess we'll see....

I heard that in the state of MI a convicted felon can run for political office as long as they are not incarcerated at the time. This means Kwame could do time but as long as he is out come election time he could run again.
24 hours was probably not long enough to get one of the sweet jailhouse tats huh?

detroit... a city that's dying and a mayor who's lying... (could be a new t-shirt)
never have i missed D & D on the air more than the last two days! grrrr!!! thank god we have this place to "hear" jeff's rants...his very eloquently put rants, i might add.
everyone's already said what needs to be said about this hip-hop thug of a loser. one question: why isn't carlita standing by her man? i mean, she was there when they were both hiding behind the cross when he came clean (no pun) about the initial scandal, but she's no where to be found now. the things that make you go hmmmmm..

Why do all the news articles keep telling us what Kwame is wearing?
Detroit News Article - August 8th
Mayor returns to City Hall:
"Dressed in an un-tucked striped white dress shirt, jeans and tan loafers"
Yahoo News - August 8th
Jailed Detroit mayor given bond, faces new charges:
"Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Jackson ruled that Kilpatrick, who spent the night in jail but showed up in court in a neat tan suit"
USA Today - August 7th
Detroit mayor charged with assault after jail order lifted:
"When he was processed at the jail, the mayor was wearing a shiny gray suit with matching vest and a French-cuffed shirt with "Mayor" embroidered on the sleeves."
Freep - August 8th
Circuit judge orders mayor tethered, revokes traveling privileges:
"Kilpatrick entered the courtroom about 9:15 a.m., his presence answering one, relatively minor, question that has hung over the proceedings: He is wearing a tan suit with a blue shirt.."
As if this is a damn Hollywood Red Carpet event.
We need a WheresKwame.com website. Help Detroiter's keep track of the man they voted into office.

All KK wants to do is to get his pension.... he is so worth it don't you think?
No I don't live in the D but my existence in this area is because my family moved here to seek the middle income dream, work for the big 3, own a home, and provide for a baby boom generation in what at that time was a thriving, exciting city to spend money in... it felt like NYC... ever watch the playback of the city during the parade? Hard to believe that it is the same city that now when we go to spend money in it looks like a city that has been raped of all that was good... if the continued attitude of the subs vs the city prevails this state will never recover and city by city this state will be raped of all that is good. Deb from the O.C.

In comparison of the two I will bet that Britney's kids will come out of their childhood better people than KK's.
Momma K should enroll them into a Florida school.
I wonder if she sings "Poppa was a rolling stone" to them at night while being tucked into their overly privileged beds?
Who in Detroit doesn't have dirty hands? That goes for Jenny on the block too...
Just a ticked off resident of Michigan
August 11, 2008 4:57 AM
I thought the exact same thing when I heard him say it. "Hey, you don't want to throw me in jail with my kids right over there do you?"
August 11, 2008 10:55 AM
This whole thing is pathetic. Look at any major city where the majority is lower-to no income, uneducated blacks and this is the scum that they vote into office everytime, why? Because they want to vote for someone who they can best relate to. It's basic human nature. It's been that way since the beginning of time, or since the beginning of democratic society.
I would not be surprised that if Kwame (what a stupid name) was convicted of homocide and ran for re-election that he would be voted back into office because of the amount of douche bag idiots that are allowed to vote.
But then again, how many residents of the city of Detroit have an IQ level higher than 2? And you know damn well, he's lovin' that statistic.
Most of the residents have nothing better to do all day than to vote. Their brain cells are half gone, plus they're mostly unemployed..but they sure as hell can catch a ride to vote. Doesn't take a genius. It must make them feel important and powerful, to be able to vote..for a piece of shit.
August 13, 2008 2:00 AM
Anonymous #8, you are bordering on racism. There are plenty of stupid people, which are not poor blacks, around the country that keep voting for low life scum. Massachusetts is a good example, they keep voting for Ted Kennedy.
I would imagine that most people vote for the candidate that is most like them, at least I do. I vote for candidates that tend to believe the things I believe and think the way I think. In my case I don't think race would be involved, there are plenty of people from other races I would vote for in a heartbeat.
I think most people don’t really pay much attention to politics and certainly don’t take the time to figure out what they truly believe politically. That means they would have to look at other things they may have in common with a candidate, like race.
