ANOTHER HILLARY AND SOME OTHER STUFF

Check this out. Hillary's campaign won't stuff sending me stuff now. Here's the latest:

Dear Jeff, Together, you and I changed America forever. We touched so many lives over the course of this campaign, and I can't thank you enough for the support you showed me. I met so many wonderful people out on the trail, and I wanted to share some of those memories with you. I hope you'll take a moment to view our online album with some favorite photos from the campaign. Thank you so much -- I'll be in touch soon.

Sincerely,

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Boy, one hate email and somehow I'm her friend forever, lol. I've changed America! LOL.

Hey by the way I haven't posted anything for awhile mostly because I had no power from last Sunday at 5pm until late Thursday night. Then I was busy trying to catch up on some things like laundry and food (it all spoiled, hundreds of dollars worth) on Friday, then Friday at 6pm it went out AGAIN until the next afternoon. Then I was tied up with family gathering, Father's Day stuff. So yeah, I need a generator. Since I moved to this neighborhood two years ago we've lost count of how often we've lost power. The spoiled food thing is such a drag. We had JUST stocked up on a lot of stuff when the outage hit. Then we lost a little more two days ago with the second round. They say your homeowner's insurance may cover this but I'm told only if you have a receipt for your food and only the perishable items of course so it has to be an itemized receipt. I don't know about you but food is not something I normally hang on to the receipt for.

I feel a little bad for DTE. I've heard so many people are complaining to state regulators about how long it took for restoration. Seems to me they did their best though. You can have a few hundred thousand customers out because of 50 problems or because of 2,000 separate little breaks, and we've all read how these storms caused the latter. I want to believe they did their best under difficult circumstances.

Father's Day was cool. I spent the morning with my son. Jack took me to see Kung Fu Panda then to Steak n Shake for lunch. Then I spent the afternoon with my daughter. Mina took me to the store, then to the playground, then out for ice cream. In the evening the kids took Stacee and me to a restaurant for dinner. They even bought me two beers. What great kids!

Any kid that'll buy their Dad a beer is a good kid.

Many years ago, we were losing power a few times a year. After losing so much food out of the freezer we bought a generator. Since then I have not needed it for power outage. The one time I was hooking it up after power had been out for a couple of hours, power came back on just as I got the house wired up. lol

PS:Glad you had a good Fathers day. My Father and I spent lunch together. My sons took me out to dinner.

My husband and I buy everything on our credit card. We pay it off every month, if you're wondering. Anyway, this is because we get points toward free gas. I guess my point for mentioning this is that we then save our receipts for everything so we can reconcile our credit card statement every month. If you did something like this, you would have your itemized receipts for groceries.

I think DTE has done a damn fine job. I was on the way home from Traverse City when the storm hit, and there was down branches the entire way. That storm hit the whole state, side to side and top to bottom. It's not like they can borrow resources from another area, all of their resources have been busy. Add to that the fact that most major down lines have a tree laying on them, so it's not just a matter of re-hooking up the wires. They have to saw up and clear a tree first, *then* repair the wires. I think 2-5 days in most cases is extremely efficient, given the circumstances. Thank you DTE.

Way to go, Jeff, you Hillary supporter, you!! Ha ha! Good to hear from you, sorry to hear you went for so long without power. I would have let you borrow my generator if I had known. Good to hear you had such a pleasant father's day. By the way, how's the road to fitness working for you? I hope you are taking good care of yourself, I am sure Stacee and the kids want you around for a long time. Not trying to nag, just offering some support!! Keep walking and eating healthy!

Wow I remember when Mina couldn't even walk now she is buying you beers. I had heard they grow up fast but that is kinda ridiculous. Sorry I missed her graduation. Speaking of getting older....Happy Birthday Jeff. Well, on Thursday anyway.

Since your kids are buying you beers, are they going to take advantage of the 4 day work week?

Depending on the insurance company all you really have to do is write the dollar amount of everything you lost, take a picture of it and send it in. We have State Farm, and that is all I had to do.

Well if they cut down EVERY tree withing 20 feet of the wires, most of these porblems would go away.
