D-MAC

Congrats to the Wings on going up 2 and 0 against Nashville, and especially to Darren McCarty. I was at the game tonight, and the Joe just went crazy. What a great story. He scored the first goal of the game, and to see those arms raise up in victory against everything he's been through, just awesome. Nothing more to say about it. He's a great guy and it was a great moment.

I agree, I was watching the game at home with my 6 year old son and when McCarty scored I got goosebumps all over my body. I felt weird because my son does not know the history of D-Mac....it's been a long time! And then to see Drapes get credit for that goal...it was like old time Red Wing hockey in Detroit! Put Ozzie in the net, and get Yzerman a jersey boys let's go! LOL! Too bad Maltby is hurt.

Felt like old times! I was driving down the road and when Ken Kal started his "screaming," I had teas in my eyes.
The news and the freep have had some great stories about McCarty this past few days. gotta love it!

Too bad Detroit will lose the series...wasted effort by D-Mac. At least he'll have some positive memories when no-one wants to sign him next season.

Jeff, I remember emailing with you about McCarty. I was so glad when you got him on the air when he was going to be traded to the Flames. You let all the listeners call in and get 10-15 seconds of airtime to give him a farewell. I can remember the exact words that I said. It was, “Seeing you score 3 goals on Roy was the greatest thing I have ever seen in all of sports, You will be missed, and never forget where home is.” And look, he came back home. I just found that out like last week and I was so happy. He is just a really cool guy and a great athlete.
