MR. MAYOR, FOR DETROIT'S SAKE, JUST RESIGN

No one in their right mind will ever believe you, Kwame Kilpatrick, care about Detroit if you don't resign in the next 30 days. You've promised that you'll never stop working for Detroit. Kwame, you're working for yourself, come on. Man up. Gut check time. You made this mess. Just move on. You already said it was the right thing for Beatty to step down. Why was it right for her but wrong for you? You had more responsibility in this than she did. You were the mayor. She worked for you. How do you possibly lead after this? You committed a crime. You lied under oath. Wasn't it you who said you felt God had this mission for you to be mayor? Isn't that the same God of the bible you placed your hand upon when you swore in court to tell the truth? Kwame, really, just stop it. Trust me. God doesn't want you to be mayor. God doesn't want anything from you. Other than your resignation letter, neither do we.

He would use every dime of the Detroit tax payers money if he could just to stay in office. He doesn't care. He will go down with the ship (Detroit) no matter what the cost. For crying out loud, everyone he's hired to work directly or indirectly for him is either a relative, a friend, or a friend of a relative, etc. So, how bad would that look for him to those people if he were to give up? As currupt as he is, he has a reputation to uphold. In other words, he has his street cred to think about. But in my book, street cred = no cred.

Very well put. It's just a shame that everyone i talk to thinks the same way, but that "man" that is supposed to be the mayor does not get the idea.

THUG MAYOR!!!!!!!
Sorry DPD. Don't sue me.
For the love of the God which you pretend to hold so dear please just go Kwame. Please? If you leave now the chance of you getting raped in prison decreases by 23%.

Well said, Jeff! I just wish you were back on the air so we could hear all of the commentary that you and Bill have on this subject.
While we are all wishing Kwame would resign, I don't think his overdeveloped sense of superiority will allow him to do so. More likely he will remain in office until he is thrown out on his a**.

here here. i couldn't have said it better myself. he's like that little boy who got caught lying and now he's practically justifying his lying by saying that he only wants best for his city. and for whatever reason, he believes that he is best. i am a detroit hater. BUT recently i am turning around to seeing it for more than the cracked out ghost town i thought it was. it WAS once a beautiful city and with the proper people involved it WILL be again. but certainly not with people who support kwame's decision to stay in office. he's turning detroit back into a joke in my mind.

until that poor excuse for a man owns up to his responsibility and does the right thing by stepping down, there will be NO hope for the city of detroit. i mean, there wasn't much hope for the future of the city in the first place but this whole mess just is another nail in the coffin labeled 'detroit'....*shrugs*

He won't step down. He needs the city's money to pay for his legal fees. Besides, look at how many of his family and friends are employeed by the city. If he resigns then their jobs would be on the chopping block. I have one question, why are the citizens of Detroit standing for this? They should be marching in front of city hall demanding his resignation, or at least starting the process of a recall.

they are standing for this because he is their "Colman Young". they HATED archer because he was doing something with the city, he wasn't corrupt.
i am glad to know that the city council is going to push for his resignation. hopefully it will help. they need to get someone in there who actually cares for the city and not lining his or her bank account.
