In case you didn't notice both Bill and I have our direct e-mail links on this site. Look to the right margin under links if you didn't catch it before. I'm still backlogged on e-mail and while I have been answering them, please don't be put off if it takes me awhile to answer yours.
As far as any other updates, all I can say right now is there are a few possibilities brewing that we are looking at but they are of course out of state thanks to that non-compete. If we do accept one of them we'll certainly post it here and let you know how you can listen online.
Oh, I talked to Rudy the other day who is for now anyway working at his brother-in-law's medical office full time. I mention it because of something funny he said. "You know how I feel?" Picture drawn out slacker Rudy voice. "You know at the end of Goodfellas when Henry Hill goes into witness protection and he's living a normal life and says how he misses the action? Pretty much like that."
But remember, the real Henry Hill eventually came out of witness protection.

I miss you guys so much. It's like losing four of your best friends. Thanks for all the years of helping me "de-stress."

Please let it be only a temporary thing if you guys go out of state! I'm a computer "Gilligan" and wouldn't know the first thing about streaming podcasts or whatever. Heck, I don't even own an Ipod because I only listen to talk radio and with you guys off the air for a while, I'm like a fish out of water. Too much silence makes me think too much, and that can never be a good thing!

Art Voulo brought up the possibility of you guys doing an out of state show from here in Michigan. Is that something you are looking into? If that does happen, I hope you are not going to do like Johnny D and pretend you are actually in the new city. Of course if Tom Bigby is as smart as people say he is, you might be getting a phone call in March with a better offer to take over the morning shift again. Jay and Bill must be terrified of those 90 day outs.

I really hope you guys find somewhere thatwill treat you how you deserve to be treated, whether it be in michigan or another state. As long as I can catch you online.
Glad to hear Rudy can still fund his WoW addiction as well :)

You know we'll be tuned in. I might have to buy an ipod and a radio shark so I can download your show but somehow I will listen. In the meantime here is a link to the "Iron my shirt!" clip:

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for putting up this website. It's nice to know how you're doing.
I listened to your show in the afternoons every day; and maybe not from day one, but shortly thereafter. Friday games were THE best. Especially password. Bill was hilarious.
I miss you and Bill, and Beaver as well. Rudy, not so much ... just kidding.
Best of luck to you and Bill and your families. I hope you share some of our good wishes with Bill. I would send an email, but I know how email can get out of control, particularly when you have as many fans as both of you do.
Please do let us know if you move on to another state and if we can listen to you on the Web or something.
Take care,
Judy

it's really amazing how such a routine part of one's life, such as just listening to a radio show pretty much every day, can be so sorely missed when ripped away. that's how i feel. i looked so forward to hearing you, like a daily appointment for fun. and now, pfffft. nothing. it's back to cds and my ipod when i'm in the car. and the home radios are never on anymore. some people may say i need to "get a life" but you were a daily part of that life - it's just hard to move on without you, doyle & rudy. here's a question: what's the penalty for breaking that non-compete clause??? haha.. take good care of yourselves, keep on writing here, jeff, it's a great read.

I really do hope you guys stay in the Detroit area. It came as a really bad shock to me when I got back home from my last run (I'm an over-the-road truck driver). I always listened to you guys daily since I was in high school. Your show was always awesome. hopefully if you do go out of state I'll be able to pick you guys up online. Hell, you should consider satellite radio.

when i moved to detroit i listened to howard when i got up, MCM with gregg and michelle in the afternoons, you guys in the evenings, and parker and the man at night. i literally listened to 97.1 from when i woke up to when i went to sleep. it made the transition to a new state so much easier to hear voices i felt such a connection to all day long. thank you for that. thanks for making michigan feel like home for the 4 years i lived there.
you guys were the best.

I would not worry about the no compete clause if I were you two. If you went on the air next week there would not be any competition. D&D would split the audience with Drew & Mike; Jay & Bill are only still here because you two are off and Drew is not due back until the end of the month. There is no competition, you two are the best. Rudy, I'd rather be Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas than Joe Pesci at the end of Casino. Hang tough, you'll be back in the action.

I agree with Ardy.... So how about that Windsor thing...broadcast from there...or flint.... or somewhere close. Clear Channel has money, I'm sure they will take the hit for the NCC just to get the number 1 rated afternoon drive show in Detroit. Geez this really sucks, WE are the customers and we can't get what we want. We just get what they want to shove in our mouths.

Rudy I feel the same since you guys arent on the air LOL, I dont listen to much now except sirus, hope you guys land a gig soon and heck I will buy a ipod or something to download the casts and listen to them as well.

Hmm, Bill's email is "bildo"...sounds like a character in a porn flick!

Hey Jeff and Bill,
I miss you both a lot. I was so looking forward to all of the commentary on the election coverage this year.
Best of luck to you all.

Since I heard you guys were leaving the air, I haven't listened to much radio - I went out and bought a TV for my office to try to make the days go faster...
You guys really made the afternoon workday enjoyable, and the drive home great -
Wherever you go, you should consider bringing the whole group (yes, even Rudy...LOL) The entire show was great!!
Thanks for the memmories, and best of luck to you all.
And by the way, I am a HUGE sports fan, but refuse to listen to 97.1 - the station really does suck now...
January 28, 2008 10:30 AM
If you guys do go out of state, is it possible to hear the whole show on podcasts or only select segments? I never got into podcasts so I'm not sure how they work.
January 31, 2008 8:52 AM
It SUCKS that you guys are no longer on the air. I've been a listener for years and you made my 90-minute commute go by that much faster. I miss the entertainment and my husband and I consider you part of our extended family - dinner conversation was often around what we heard on D&D. Thanks for setting up this blog and if you haven't thought about a live listener gathering, you should! St. Patty's day??
January 31, 2008 1:24 PM
It blew big time when you guys went to the morning, but at least you were still on. With ouu D&D and the "gang" on, I totaly have absolutly no use for 97.1 what so ever.(im not a sports fan so i REALLY dont see the need for 2 stations playing the same Eff'n thing) I am sure but I swore I heard Nicole Salem on 89x ? Anyways I wish the best of luck to you all, hopfully you will be back on Air soon even if its not in Michigan.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents and let you guys know how much I miss listening to you on my drive IN to work!!! I was upset when they moved you to mornings, but to find out you were off the air was devastating. I hope you stay in Michigan, but if not I WILL find a way to listen!!!!

This totally just prompted me to go to 97.1's website and bitch all over again about HOW MUCH THEY SUCK!
argh! Miss you guys!
February 5, 2008 9:14 AM
Does the non-compete clause include an internet based podcast type of show?
