COUPLE THINGS
Got some messages asking why I'd be saying nice things about Gregg Henson when he's said bad things about me, some according to the messages even behind my back. Everything that some of you told me I already know. I know the things he's said, and I don't care. I don't wish someone well or think someone is talented only because they like me. Even if Henson doesn't, I still wish him well. I still think he's talented. It is just that simple.
Personal note. My daughter Mina took her first steps today. I was upstairs cleaning a bathroom so I missed it. But she got in a few more that I saw and as any parent knows it is a weird and great moment. You wonder about where those steps will take her. You wonder about the angry steps she'll take leaving certain rooms, and the excited ones she'll take entering others. Mina turns one year old in a few days so we're getting the house cleaned top to bottom for a party.
Terrible tanker crash on 75 today. The trucker died, a fireball caught on camera, a house below the highway burned out. Is it just me or do the most life changing moments happen the fastest and seemingly out of nowhere? For all our planning and struggling to stay on course, our real course just finds us anyway. Enough philosophical bullshit. I obviously need some sleep. Goodnight.

Hi Jeff,
You sure are right about life being funny. I just wanted to leave a note and tell you how very much you guys are missed. All of you, it was such a perfect mix of personalities. I started listening to 97.1 just before you guys got here and once I heard your show, I was hooked for good. I doubt I missed more than 4 or 5 days of your show per year! You were, I swear, like family. It didn't matter how crappy a day may have been, it was nice to turn on the radio at 3 and know I would have a good time listening to you on the ride home and then while making dinner. Even though I may not always have agreed with you (like on politics) I always liked you and found your sincerity to be real and rare. I have tried other talk shows lately and they just don't do it for me. I guess I'll stick to music until you guys come back.
How is the MindCandy thing going for Rudy?
Ohhhh, I want to add that I cannot STAND Jay Towers. The only thing worse than him was that Shila character they had on for a little while that did nothing but talk about Indian food all the time. I'm not shocked at Jay's behavior, but Bill McCallister surprises me. I thought he was better than that. Maybe Jay rubbed-off on him? I don't really mean that in a sexual way or anything. Oh, man, now THERE is a visual I didn't need!! LOL!!
Take care and good luck. Hope to hear you again next year or online.

I've been reading Gregg's blog for three years and most mentions of Deminski and Doyle have been positive. I can't say the same for most message boards about the station where people like to rip D&D, Parker, Gregg and every other talented person who was on that station. I like Gregg better since I've been reading his blog. Sometimes on air he used to get on my nerves, but that was the persona he was trying to project and his show was never boring enough to get me to change the station. They did some pretty funny stuff. I used to love that Party at the Manoogian song they played.

I love it when you get philosophical.

Hiya Jeff!
Huge fan here and I miss your show bigtime.
I even called Tom (after calling about half a dozen different numbers, I finally got his voice mail) and complained.......but never got a call back...(hmmmm)
Enjoy your babies..........this is the part that you will remember when you're in a rocking chair at Shady Pines (after being wheeled out by a guy with cornrolls named Lionel!)

Best wishes to D & D. I also listened to you guys from the beginning, and it made the ride home nice. I would catch myself laughing out loud and then looking over to the car next to me and having someone look at me like I was nuts!!
We will miss you guys, and hope to hear you in Detroit again.
Good luck!

Jeff, I know how exciting it is to see your children learn new things. I'm sure you've noticed with Jack how cute is in when they learn to talk. You never know what they are going to say. My kids are both grown. 23 and 21 My 21 year old daughter is in the Air Force. Thanks for doing this blog, it keeps us all connected since we don't have the show anymore. Is Bill, Beaver or Rudy going to join in sometime. Anyway congrats on the first birthday and all the "family" you have made her in Michigan

Fellas I thought of your show like hanging out with old buddies, I hate the fact you have a no compete clause and i would hate to here either of you settle somewhere out of state. I came up with an idea and I think it might just work. After reading some of the posts I noticed you have a pretty big base of real loyal fans. The question is just how many. I would be willing to throw $20.00 on a "keep Jeff and Bill in Mihigan fund", Think about it all you need is 10,000 fans like myself to throw down a couple bucks. I am not sure how much you two make on radio but $100,000 each should keep you alright until 2009. Seriously, im game let us know how to do this on one of your posts. I will be happy to be the first to make a donation

Damn, Mina is nearly a year old. It doesn't seem that long ago when she was born. Enjoy these moments while you can, I know very well how fast time goes by while the kids are growing.
My Dad called me yesterday to tell me about that tanker crash. It takes a special (not special Ed special...lol) type of driver to haul tankers.

Jeff,
Isn't it funny how Gregg trashes everyone at 97.1 and than he gets fired, again? In Seinfeld they called that Even Steven.
Good luck, hope to hear you guys again in a year!
January 11, 2008 9:20 PM
Jeff,
I hope you guys stay in Michigan. It's only for a year, besides 97.1 aka "Lion's radio" should be off the air by then, what a bunch of pea brains.
This blog thing is pretty cool! The best to you and your family.

Jeff,
Just go to Toledo. FM104 has been going down hill for years. You guys could be the morning show. Nah, too early for the drive, do the afternoon show and boost their signal!
Better yet, CKLW!!! Have you thought of Austin? Or Philly?!
How long until 97.1 brings in a real morning show? MCM is terrible. Could they hire you guys to do show prep classes?
January 12, 2008 3:31 PM
Wow Mina is already a year old geez time flies. Pretty soon she will be potty trained and then off to school. At least she has Jack to watch over her. Thats whats cool about my nephew (6) and niece (3) He looks out for his little sister. Not to mention they both love there cool Uncle.

I think that some times these little "time outs" that life gives us let us see what really counts. I'm glad you could be there when your daughter walked for the first time. These are the things I missed with my youngest cause I was on the job. What a ass I was.
January 12, 2008 11:32 PM
Hey Jeff i just have to say that detroit radio completely sucks without you guys. i am currently 19 years old and have been listening to you since i was 11. i work in the landscaping industry and listen to the radio on my headphones every day, all day long. once 3 o'clock rolled around i knew that the day would fly by. i have absolutely nothing to look forward to now. i really never got used to the morning thing. i tried but it just wasn't the same. you guys were the
topic of discussion among my coworkers and i. Well Jeff i wish you the best. and to show that i was a fan, if you see doyle call him a "boy" for me! Thanks for all the laughs!
January 13, 2008 1:08 AM
Life is emptier without you guys on the radio. Thanks for taking the time to blog. It means more to some of us than you realize. Happy birthday to your daughter!

Happy Birthday Mina, and congratulations on those first steps.
Jeff, thanks for taking the time to keep us updated through your blog. I really miss tuning into your show at 3 and hope to hear D&D again someday/somewhere.
January 13, 2008 8:35 AM
Hi Jeff, I'm glad you're keeping in touch through this blog. You were always more in touch with your fans than most. I miss you guys terribly! My drive time is boring as hell without you guys to keep me going. I'm giving Jay and Bill a shot, I love Bill, but the show is not very good. Hopefully we'll be hearing from you guys again soon!
January 13, 2008 9:37 AM
Hi Jeff, I like every other D&D listener, are truly sad that you are no longer on the radio. You kept me company (and often times laughing my butt off!) on my sometimes terrible and very long drive home from work each day and then before I knew it, I was home. I have listened to you two from the beginning and still find it hard to believe that you are no longer on the air. I am hoping that after your one year of no work in Detroit clause expires, you will find another afternoon gig with a different Detroit station. But for now, just enjoy your time with Mina, Jack, and Stacee while you can. It's hard to believe that my girl is 3 and I still don't know where the time went!
XOXO from one of your long time listeners.
January 13, 2008 8:21 PM
Jeff: It's wonderful to see you guys with a blog site. My wife and I were both faithful listeners for the entire time that you were on the radio. Both of us miss the show immensely, but the good news is that we got a radio preset back to be used for something else. However, my drive home seems to take quite a bit longer these days. I really look forward to hearing you guys on the radio again, even if it takes a year or I have to listen online. You already know this, but you have tons of fans in this area. You had the most entertaining and enjoyable radio talk program that I had ever heard.
