COUPLE MORE THINGS, LOL
Obviously I'm new to this, but one thing I've learned quickly is everyone has an opinion on everything, lol. I just want to clear something up. When I heard Gregg Henson was no longer with his station in Austin I posted it and wished Gregg and his family well. Then there were a ton of comments I did NOT allow up which were really nasty and a lot telling me how naive I was for wishing Gregg well when he allegedly said bad things about my old show, etc., etc.. Next I post something saying look, I've read your comments, I know about a lot of this already, and it didn't matter. I wasn't trying to say I believed everything I'd heard, but my point was I like the guy and I think he's very talented. The station was at its best when we were all there together. Then THAT seemed to touch off something too. Geez! For cryin' out loud, Gregg and I have no beef. He's already said it on his blog, which is terrific by the way www.gregghenson.com, and I'm backing him up. I have no beef with him. I like him. He was to my house for a party. We and the wives went out to dinner when Stacee was pregnant. And Gregg if you're reading this I DO agree with you about the old DFN thing; especially at that point we would not have been the right fit. I didn't go by their office a whole lot mostly because I didn't want to bother them and I guess because I've always had this shy thing that says 'no one really wants to talk to you'. So for the last time, don't give me a hard time just because I don't hate Gregg. I don't know why everyone wants radio to be even more competitive and cutthroat than it already is. Our shows were always different, and we are different, but that's not a bad thing. So yes I think it sucks he's not in radio right now and I wish him well. Can we all just leave it be?
Mina had her 1st birthday party last night and Stacee and I are pretty exhausted. Just cooking all day, cleaning all day, pulling chairs up from the basement and tables in from the garage....you guys know the drill...enough to wear you out. She was a cutie but of course I'm biased. Trying to get the grandmothers to control their gift giving is a challenge. I wonder if I'll be lucky enough to work here in Detroit again and keep my kids here. Don't know why I'm so stubborn about it with the economy the way it is, but I really want to stay. I hope Michigan gets better and finds new industry and that my kids can grow up here. Days like yesterday make you think about it more.

We get it you just don't want to say how you really feel about Greg...
( Did you Feel the chain pull?)
I am sure you are glad that party day is over. It just amazes me all the effort put into a 1 year party. Oh well that is just me...
So is Doyle ever going to put the game controller down and at least say "Hey"...(Said in my best Gomer voice)

People love to stir up controversy. All I care about is where you guys are going and when are you coming back. The best radio ever was with Howard in the Morning and you guys in the afternoon drive. Would Sirius be a violation of your non compete clause?

D&D- you've express your desire to stay in the Motor city, and I hope it comes true. I am not the only person that longs for the days that your show returns. With no Drew on Drew and Mike, and no D&D there is not much left that grabs my listening attention. Hoping that your show returns to Detroit.

With all the shit Detroit and Michigan get it's good to hear a transplant talk about how much they love the area and want to stay.

I know what you mean about the grandparents and gifts. I usually give my mom a list of two things and then she doesn't over buy. Same with the other side too. I don't know if that will work for you but it's a suggestion. I have also asked for clothes to cut down on the toy clutter.
Happy Birthday to your little one :)

Wow, it's hard to believe Mina is one already. Time flies, especially when you have little ones. I'm glad to hear you say you want to stay in Detroit. I'm hoping you guys ride out your one-year no-complete clause.
You're right about the economy. Just out of curiosity, what it is about Michigan that makes you want to stay? I'd be curious to know what would keep someone in a state in which he didn't grow up in. I think we'd all be interested in what you like about Michigan (except you DID have the best listeners in the world!)
Good luck and I really love reading your blog. I guess it doesn't make us diehard listeners feel like you've left our lives entirely.

One thing about Gregg, he posts negative as well as positive comments. Its not a good idea to police every comment. Let all sides be heard, jmho. I am a big fan of D & D and Gregg.

Hi Jeff,
You are experiencing one of humanities ugliest traits. Don't wish someone well and hope they succeed in life. You should hate them, be jealous and spiteful.
Crypes, are we all adults?..lol. Tell em how it is Jeff!!
I have two teenagers. Believe me, it doesn't get any easier!

Hey Jeff,
I'm gonna try and get a quick topic of change from you. You said that you wanted to stay in Michigan and hope that it would find a turn around. In your opinion, what will it take to turn Michigan around. I've always said that it's more jobs. People have always stamped us with the title "Motorcity." We are known as a car state. I think we should completely change the image of what Michigan should be to spark business to bring their work to us. What's your take? Sorry, I know this is off topic, but I always enjoyed hearing your point of view.

Hey Jeff it good to hear how things are going. Just shocked that it is you and not Bill the PC geek doing a blog. I hope you guys stay in Michigan also. It is gonna be a long year not hearing your guys on the radio. How is Rudy and the Beave doing?

Hi Jeff,
I really miss having you and Bill keep me company everyday.
I'm glad you are enjoying the extra time with your family but I hope that a station with some sense snaps the two of you up next year.
I'm already sick to death of my iPod.

We did the Birthday Party thing yesterday as well- moving tables and chairs, cleaning up before and after-
As for the Gifts- Just accept it. They are going to do it wheter you like it or not so your best bet is to influence what they get as opposed to try to control the amount.

I'm just glad that you guys are still out there and keeping touch. I started listening about 4-5 years ago and have loved the drive home since. When the change came to mornings, it was no big deal because my morning drive became fun again (and the first few hours of work). However, I know that radio is cut throat and it's just a bummer that you guys couldn't work it out. I hope you guys can work something out here in Michigan and keep us all entertained. Also, thank you for starting the site and keeps us in the loop to the D&D world. It's a bummer not having you guys on radio, but we'll get by. That goodness for the internet, because we'll be able to streaming any new show you guys start up. Kudos

What up Jeff. I can't believe you're actually blogging. Especially since it took you so long to get a freakin' computer in your home to begin with! I'm gonna call that guy you referred to me this week. Who knows, maybe I'll become an actual REAL adult! Lol. Give me a call sometime. If you don't have anything going on Friday, you should come see my band play it's first official bar gig. Peace and all that stuff.

Glad to hear you want to hang in Michigan! Husband and I moved out of the Detroit area (job change) at the end of summer and we missed your show like crazy! When I found out that the station changed formats, I was nervous about what would happen to you guys. What a pile of crap!
You know, can't you work in radio in another part of Michigan? Like, maybe Grand Rapids...? :)
January 14, 2008 7:00 PM
Jeff,
"I've always had this shy thing that says 'no one really wants to talk to you'."?!!? You had the most popular call-in talk show in metro Detroit! By that we can assume two things:
#1 You're not as "shy" as you think you are and
#2 People DO want to talk to you.
Take care "Chief" ;)

Hey Jeff!
I feel very out of the loop since my own departure from the work force in Sept. I am very sorry to see your show go off the air, even if it is a temporary situation. I really enjoyed your show, and I look forward to you guys helping me through the work day when I rejoin the working world!
Take care,
Berg

I liked Greg and Michelle. My idea of a perfect lineup is O&A then MCM (with gregg and Michelle) and then D&D. After that I don't care. But you're right, their show was different. If it was the same as your show I wouldn't have liked it so much because they are not you guys. I liked D&D better but I enjoyed their show too.
